Estimates Receipts And Invoices

All Estimates, receipts, Invoices emails quotes etc are only valid for 1 month from the date of sending and or receipt

Shipping and Posting your Item to us

If you have to send your board to us for repair, please package the item to ensure it doesn't get damaged on its way to us. A good strong box and plenty of padding is recommended. We will not be held responsible for items that are damaged on receipt or during transit. If your item has not been delivered check our FAQ page

Shipping to us from outside the EEC

if you ship to me from outside the EEC then please contact me before shipping your item or you will incur Customs charges.All goods must be clearly marked as "goods for repair" Other details need to be addled too

Component Loss and Returns

I send everything by by first class royal mail, unless requested to do otherwise. If you use the first class postage option then it is your responsibility to pursue any claim from royal mail for any lost item. I do keep the certificate of posting in case you should need to make a claim from Royal Mail.

Soldered BIOS Repair

We accept boards and laptops for this type of repair. However we will not accept any responsibility for the outcome of any repair attempt. The boards are usually dead on arrival here, so in reality we cannot make matters worse. But we are able to help in the majority of cases.

No liability will be accepted by me for undertaking this service on your behalf, if you do not agree with this condition, then please do not make use of the soldered BIOS Repair service. Use of the soldered BIOS repair service should be a last resort, before finally replacing the motherboard. All recovery options should have been tried before considering this option.

If you do send a board to us then please be sure to package your item well. Please do not send your board to us in a jiffy bag, Jiffy bags are not suitable for motherboards. A good strong box with padding is needed. The board should also be protected against static.

If you do strip your laptop yourself please do not work on carpets and also do not wear acrylic or woolen clothing. Use an anti static strap or earth yourself first, cotton clothing is far preferable to any woolen or synthetic item. laptop boards are easily damaged by static electricity

BIOS Service

If you use this service please supply the Full BIOS chip part number. Non compliant parts can only be supplied for pre July 1st 2006 equipment.

BIOS Codes

We do not sell BIOS codes, these are usually supplied by your motherboard manufacturer free as a service to their customers. We charge for use of our programming service and the replacement EEPROM. We would in fact prefer you to send in your own chip and the code for programming.

If your board refuses to boot when the correct EEPROM is installed which also contains the correct BIOS code. Then it is highly likely that your board or associated hardware has other problem's.

We do use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.

Whether you choose to allow or block cookies from Grains BIOS repair is a matter of personal choice, however some cookies must be allowed to be able to use the shopping cart and other features of the website

ROHS

Most of our chip stock is now ROHS Compliant. We still have limited numbers of NON Compliant parts but these parts can only be supplied for machines made before July 1st 2006 and very soon these will not be available.. If an alternative compliant part is available then this part will be used in its place.
In some cases the new Lead free Parts are not 100% compatible with the old leaded part, which does cause further problems for us and our customers.

OEM BIOS Codes

If your OEM maker doesn't release COMPLETE BIOS codes to restore your machine, you will need to take this issue up with them. I can only prepare a chip with the codes provided by the makers of your OEM machine.

The outcome of any repair attempt on OEM machines relies entirely on the makers willingness to supply the vital ROM or Binary files, and also on the integrity of the OEM makers BIOS files.

We are trying to resolve the issues we have with some OEM makers, but are up against a closed shop in some cases.

Payment

We accept Paypal payments, British cheque's and postal orders. If I have any doubt about the authenticity of a customer, or his intentions, then I reserve the right to refuse any service or part available on this site.

We do not accept Western Union Payments, please do not ask as refusal often offends.

If Items sent to us for repair are not payed for and collected within 6 months, we reserve the right to dispose of said items by auction to cover our costs here. You will be informed of this decision by recorded letter before the event and if payment isnt received the items will be sold

Site Issues

Please report any issues with the web site to. Grainsadmin Any copyright or other issues will be remedied as soon as possible. It is not and never has been our intention in imitate other sites, or to infringe upon any ones copyright.

Spam

All Spam E-mailwill be reported to the proper authorities. We have an anti Spam policy here and are actively engaged in fighting Spam e-mail. Have no doubt all E-mail classed as Spam or phishing does get reported to the right authorities.
