I received the eeprom and placed it into my
acer L3600.
Before it only gave two beeps, a long one followed by a short one.
Now it starts up again and right now i use it to write this reply.
So, thanks for your help and keep up the nice repair service.

Thanks for the speedy service!. After I placed the order, BIOS chip
was delivered from UK to US Colorado in just 4 days! Very Impressive.
I was in a bit of a jam with my MSI K9ND speedster board. I rushed
into a good deal on ebay to replace my two dual-core Opterons with new
quad-core chips, without first checking BIOS support. After checking
out the manufacturer web site later, I realized that quad-core chips
are supported with my board, but only when different, higher capacity
BIOS chip installed and burned with the latest firmware version. Thanks!

I would like to personally thank you for an excellent service that probably saved me fortunes and allowed me to explain to my dad that his computer that he entrusted to me was in good working order and not an expensive door stop.
My father had purchased this 2nd hand computer and he had asked me to update everything for him. In my infinite wisdom I had decided to flash the bios as well.
Unfortunately I wasn't aware that the bios update was disabled (why
disable it so it allows the download then tells you cant once its too late!).
I came across a forum that gave you as a suggestion http://www.fixya.com/support/t1986314-acer_aspire_1800_not_booting Having
nothing to lose I gave you a go. I received
the chip a couple of days later, replaced the
chip and crossed my fingers. Within 2 minutes of rebuilding the pc, I was
looking at the desktop doing a merry little dance and wiping the sweat
from my brow. Thanks again for the great service and any forum that I frequent
and see people with the same problems, rest assured I will give your name!

The BIOS works perfectly, thank you very much.
I also figured out why my hard disk was being so slow (which is the reason I was trying to upgrade my BIOS).
Turns out to be case vibrations, if I hold the HD in my hand it goes from 40ms to 15ms seek time. Crazy.
Anyway, thanks again for being so prompt and helpful.
